The Push Heard Round the World

The Chelsea versus Arsenal matchup this weekend was hotly contested on the field, but that is not what being discussed in the news. Instead of concentrating on the beautiful play of Chelsea and the continued successful goal scoring of Diego Costa, a sideline altercation is the hot topic. Arsenal manager and Chelsea manager, got in a shoving match and had to be separated in the second half of the fixture this past weekend.

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger became incensed after a viscous late tackle by Chelsea's Gary Cahill. The foul was called and yellow card given to the Chelsea centerback, but Wenger was not appeased.

The Arsenal coach left his technical area (the designated spot managers are allowed to inhabit along the sidelines) to voice his outrage at the dangerous tackle to one of his star players, Alexis Sanchez. Jose Maurinho, the Chelsea manager responded with an indication that he would like Wenger to return to his coaching box.

Arsene Wenger responded with a shove to Maurinho's chest, and the two had to be separated by the 4th official.

It is not the first time that these two have exchanged words and obviously share a dislike. No punishment has been enforced upon either, but the exchange has brought quite a bit of entertainment to the weekends fixtures.
